The Swim Team really appreciate all your e-mails ... here's a selection of them!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for organizing this event!! It was great fun! Susanne

Was hard work but a great swim, thanks to all organizers. Christophe

Well done organizing this. Berry

Thanks for the great event today! John

A big thank you to everyone for their hard work in organising this. Hope to see you next year. Best The Keatings!

Just wanted to say you guys all did a great job in organising this year. It went great- I did one a few years back and this was certainly better. All the best and thanks for all your efforts- they are recognised and appreciated. Myles

Thanks a lot for this fabulous organization. We had a great time. Thanks again, Best regards Camille

Thanks to you and your team for organising such a well-run and fun event on the weekend. Our whole family enjoyed the experience and our 10 year old son will be back next year to swim with his parents. Cheers Louise

Thank you very much indeed. You organised very well this Mekong river swimming competition 2011. I hope to do it next year with a better score. Thank you for keeping all swimmers informed. Regards, Marie

Thank you for a great event. Best regards, Pelle

Just a note to say thanks for organising the swim yesterday. It was well-organised and lots of fun. Appreciate your efforts. Best, Rosaleen.

Thanks for a great event. I really enjoyed. Never quite expected to come 2nd! Thank you Alan

Another word of congratulations for coordinating such a successful event. Why was it successful? Participants enjoyed themselves, pax & vols could access the venue using well-prepared maps and transportation options, pax & vols knew what they needed to do, injuries were minimised and promptly managed because SOS mechanisms were in place, spectators had plenty of opp to watch and enjoy the event, pax were nourished post-swim, all people’s efforts were celebrated (even after the event as shown in your email below) and and and and I wasn’t really behind the scenes to know the ins and outs more intimately, but from where I stand, things really did turn out very successfully. Please feel free to keep my name on file for next year (though I’ll surely want to join you all in the water come swim time). Best wishes, Nicole

Just wanted to say a big thank you for a great morning on Sunday - a fantastic chance for my 12 year old daughter to challenge herself ( as for her 46 year old dad....) It was a really well organised event, so please pass on my thanks to all those who made it happen - MRS 2012? Mark and Eden

Congratulations to you and your team - this event (from swimmer perspective anyway) was so well organised, communication was excellent and direction/briefing on the day was well done. It was great to be so informed, particularly in the week leading up to the event. I chose The Shop for lunch on Monday - great to have local business support too. Thanks again, Cassie.

I just wanted to drop you a short note and thank you for coordinating the Mekong River Swim. It was a great event and very well organised. I hope it was a success and will be held again next year. Regards Elisabeth

A HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors this year!

Thank you to all the volunteers who turned out in force to ensure the MRS 2011 was such a great event for everyone involved! The Swim Team would also like to thank Prek Leap Agricultural College for once again hosting this annual event. The support and cooperation from the Director and his staff at the college has been much appreciated. We hope that we can continue this collaboration in 2012.

International SOS (corner of St. 51 & St. 228) who once again provided the medical team (paramedic, nurses & ambulance), without which this annual event would certainly not have been possible. Thanks to Ed, the International SOS nurses and Sue for supporting the MRS once again!

The Shop on St. 240 who provided nourishment post-swim for our intrepid Mekong River swimmers. Thank you for your continued support with the MRS and the sandwiches, Griet!

A new sponsor this year, but the plethora of much deserved pizza was certainly welcome by our winners! Luna d'autunno on St. 21 provided pizzas for all 1st & 2nd place swimmers in each of the under 18 age groups and for the 4 swimmers in the fastest team! Thank you Elain for donating these.

You will all have seen this amazing piece of artwork promoting the MRS 2011 on posters, in magazines and at the Swim on the t-shirts and banners. A highly talented local artist, Peap Tarr, is the person who created this logo. We really appreciate Peap creating and donating such an iconic image for the Mekong River Swim. As you will see from the post below in this blog, there is a limited edition run of white t-shirts now on sale at both iCAN and K'NYAY for only $8. Buy them for your family & friends before stocks sell out!

K'NYAY Khmer & Vegan Cuisine on St. 268, played a huge part in the run up to the MRS 2011, as they were one of the two registration points across the city. Not only did Run, Sern & their team at K'NYAY promote and register swimmers for the MRS 2011, they also turned out to volunteer as safety crew at the Swim last Sunday and they donated $100 worth of K'NYAY meal vouchers to 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions in both the mens and womens +18 years category. Great effort guys!

Last, and by no means least, a MASSIVE thanks to the team at iCAN British International School! After the cancellation of MRS 2010 due to a lack of volunteers, the Swim Team at iCAN offered to take over the organisation of this years MRS. It was a real team effort and over 50 of the iCAN staff and school community volunteered at the Swim on Sunday. iCAN was also the other registration point across the city and their organisation ensured that the event ran so smoothly. The Swim Team at iCAN have already met and begun to plan MRS 2012

... so keep Sunday 1st April 2012 free in your diaries!
